If I could leave ZERO stars I would. This company has been nothing but a headache since I got involved with them six years ago. My first issue is THERE WAS NEVER ANY DIFFERENCE IN THE POWER BILL. Don’t let them feed you that mess. I was stuck paying a FULL power bill and for the solar panels themselves. This company also messed up my roof during installation and I have had multiple roof leaks over the past two years because of this. Powur takes their time sending someone out to repair things. The company they have sent out multiple times has failed to fix the multiple leaking issues I have and it’s taken MONTHS to get this issue resolved. I am still waiting on them to send someone out to fix a leak that was supposedly “fixed before”. This problem going unresolved is causing more damage to my roof. Then to top it off their customer service is in the trash at this point. There is no way to talk to anyone on the phone and you have to wait days and weeks for someone to respond to the email. Not only am I reporting this company to the BBB but I will also be getting a lawyer to get me out of this fraudulent contract with them. Don’t use Powur for anything and find another company for solar power.

Great experience they treated my home with care and very professional
TL/DR: Keep away from their services.
Large solar company sub contracting all work to the cheapest vendors. In addition, NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT unless you consider AI chatbots helpful. Stick to a local solar and roofing company with good reputation than using Powur as it has been a nightmare trying to resolve the poor workmanship of the roofing company they chose for our house.
All plywood below shingles are rotten three years into the new roof as the roofing company used underlayment that was not in code for the slope of roof of our house. They also created gashes in the underlayment, likely when cutting up shingles and chose vents that were non compliant.
If anything goes wrong you are stuck with no one to talk to and surely not anyone local.
Keep away!
Most people don't understand, Powur is a platform. It's a technology. Like Uber, or like Airbnb. It connects local installers with nationwide name brand products and specialized solar consultants nationwide. It's completely innovative, and giving a bad review for an install not going well is like giving an Airbnb a bad review. That doesn't mean that Airbnb is a bad company or doesn't work properly or anything like that. It's important to know that when looking at reviews.
I highly recommend anyone who is looking at Powur to read their BBB complaints. There are thousands of people just like me with the same story. It feels truly awful to have spent this amount of money for solar panels that are only functional half of the year due to a failure to conduct a proper shade survey. Here’s my story. I got scammed.
I live in San Diego CA. We have sun virtually all year round. The perfect climate for maximum solar generation. Our winters are extremely mild, there is rarely rain and 95% of our winters resemble summer.
I am in an HOA and fought tooth and nail with my association for years to be able to do this project. Powur could have put my panels anywhere on the shared roof but chose to put the panels directly behind two massive trees. You can see this would have been an obstruction from the naked eye.
Powur did not physically visit my site. Their process for Sun survey is very unprofessional and quite frankly non existent. This is the result from 4 years of drama with my HOA. Now I need to go through a legal process that will probably never happen to move the panels to another area of the roof. The HOA is definitely not going to cut down a massive rooted tree for me, nor should they have to.
I tried to troubleshoot this with Eric Goldstein, the person who sold us this fraudulent system and the people at Powur. They refuse to even let a manager talk with me, acknowledge any wrongdoing, or provide any course of corrective action. In the three months that I have been asking, not one person from Powur has called me.
In the “winter” aka summer because we are in SoCal, which is almost half of the year - we are receiving a fraction of the energy for a system that we paid full value for. Powur sold me a system based on 20 kw and for half of the year, we are receiving 8-12 kws.
Zana Electric was nice enough to come out free of charge. Powur did not want them to come out and in fact tried to even obstruct the process. When we scaled the roof, the problem is pretty clear. Zana told us that we are not getting at least 1/4 of the energy promised to us. And that energy translates to actual dollars because that’s the amount of money we paid for our system for.
Any respectable company would at least refund me 1/4 of purchase price. After four years of hell with my HOA, this feels so awful. I will file a complaint with the BBB and CA Attorney General. CA does have better consumer protection laws than most other states. But, we all know our federal government is not looking out for us from these evil corporations. I hope this review makes anyone in a HOA take a pass and not work with this horrible company.
I am happy to say we have had a great experiance with our solar purchase. Our rep Cynthia Alvidrez, was knowledgeable and always keep us in the loop. The solar install looks great, no issues and I love the Tesla battery back up. (we have 2 batteries) Looks sharp and the Tesla app keeps us in the know regarding how much battery storage we have. It's really slick how it all works together. So glad I found Powur solar and Cynthia Alvidrez, what a team!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Cynthia for my solar installation, and I cannot say enough great things about the experience. From the very beginning, Cynthia went above and beyond to make sure every part of the process was clear, smooth, and stress-free.
She took the time to thoroughly explain how the system works, the expected savings, and answered every question I had with patience and professionalism. What really stood out was her dedication—Cynthia was always available when I needed her, followed up promptly, and made sure everything stayed on track from start to finish.
Her knowledge, honesty, and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction truly set her apart. It’s rare to find someone who cares this much about doing a great job and making sure their clients feel confident in their decision.
If you’re considering going solar, I highly recommend working with Cynthia. Her exceptional service, attention to detail, and positive attitude made the entire experience outstanding.
So far system Mm
