This guy Stephan asked for full payment $7500 before he started the job. My husband is 78 years old and very trusting. Stephan said he was coming the next day. The next day came and the day after that and on and on. Needless to say he has not done the job nor has he paid us back in full.I believe it is illegal in California to ask for full payment before starting a job. You can only ask for a 20% deposit. After day 5 he sent some guy in a small car with no equipment (no air conditioner unit) who came to look at the job and didn't even know Stephan. I guess Stephan broker's out his jobs. We gave him payment on August 25,2026. Up until now only because I posted a bad review on Yelp, he has paid me back only $3363 a few days ago. He promised if I took down the review he would pay me back in full by Monday. He is now ghosting me for the final return of my money. Why doesn't he still have my money to give back to me? The other weird thing is he ran our credit card through his cousin's business Heating Airs. I don't know how he can get away with this. I have now reported fraud to our credit card company. He should not be holding our money. Be careful. Oh! Heating air his cousin called me when I disputed the charge. He said he gave Stephan $7500 cash. He was doing him a favor and he wasn't going to get stuck for the money. I can't even believe these 2 are allowed to operate like this. I don't even know Heating Airs. How could they legally run my card through a different company than the name on the contract which states Alanis Air.Again be very wary!!!! The rating should be 0.

I purchased a new Goodman 5-ton HVAC system from Alanis Air for $7,500. Within approximately two weeks of installation, the system stopped cooling during a period of triple-digit temperatures.
I contacted Alanis Air multiple times by phone and text requesting warranty service. Although there was some communication, the issue was never resolved and the system remained inoperable. After several days without a repair, I was forced to hire another licensed HVAC contractor to diagnose and repair the problem at my own expense.
The second contractor replaced the failed ECM condenser motor and charged me $575.00. I later sent Alanis Air a written request for reimbursement with supporting invoices and received no response.
My disappointment is not that a component failed—mechanical equipment can fail. My concern is that the warranty service was not provided in a timely manner and I ultimately had to pay another contractor to restore cooling to a newly installed system.
Our experience with Stephan, the owner of Alanis Air, ultimately turned out very well. The AC at our rental property broke during an extremely rough summer, and our tenants were understandably frustrated and constantly reaching out about the heat. We received several estimates, and Stephan gave us the best price.
Things didn’t go perfectly at first. After we hired Alanis Air, we had a rocky start and some unexpected problems came up during the installation. What I appreciated, though, was that Stephan didn’t walk away from the situation. He worked with us until the issues were resolved and everything was finally taken care of.
Because the installation problems affected our tenants, Stephan also provided hotel accommodations for them while things were being sorted out. That meant a lot to us as property owners and helped us manage an already stressful situation.
Overall, we had a good experience. Stephan is an honest guy who made an effort to make things right when complications came up. No project is always perfect, but how someone responds when there is a problem says a lot. We appreciate that he stood behind his work, and we would recommend Alanis Air
They gouged a huge fee just to show up and do a diagnostic. Then it seems the A/C unit had a different issue after taking a look and they quoted me a very big number $$$$. Had to do it because of the heat wave... Would not recommend

Stephan and his crew replaced my natural gas heater with a heat pump. The price was reasonable, and they were able to schedule the work within a week. The installation took place on December 3, 2025. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end.
Throughout the installation, they cut corners whenever possible. For example, the condensate drain from the air handler was routed in a way that blocks access to the air filter, simply because it was easier for them. I was also supposed to receive a new thermostat, but instead they reused the old one. The existing thermostat was not wired for both heating and cooling, so rather than doing the job properly, they installed it next to the air handler, where it is essentially useless for controlling the temperature in the rest of the house. I ultimately had to run new wiring myself and install a new thermostat near the original location.
On December 11, while I was in the attic planning additional insulation, I discovered that not all of the ductwork had been replaced, despite this being included in the quote. I notified Stephan immediately. He acknowledged the issue, thanked me for pointing it out, and said it would be taken care of. I even offered to pay his standard rate to have an additional duct installed.
Stephan told me to coordinate directly with Fadie, the installer who originally did the work. When I contacted Fadie, his only response was “who is this text,” and after I explained the situation, he never replied again. I then copied both Stephan and Fadie on follow-up messages. Stephan occasionally asked Fadie to respond, but nothing ever came of it.
On January 11, I informed them that they had until January 16 to resolve the issue. There was no response. In the end, I spent several hours on a Friday evening completing the duct replacement myself.
While the initial pricing and scheduling were good, the workmanship, follow-through, and customer support were extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
I'm satisfied with the outcome. I made a bundle deal with Stephen the owner, his guys replaced the 22 years old hvac, the 28 years old gas water heater and they installed a 240 Volt outlet for my ev charger with the best price in town (I know this because I have asked around), the company is Licensed, bonded and they will only do under code and safety standard! I'm a business owner myself, and reputation is paramount. Based on others positive experience with the company, I approve! His crew were friendly and polite. They cleaned the trash right after. I met Stephen dad, Stephen's business partner when he dropped off the units. He was a gentleman and friendly.
Hopefully, I don't have to call for warranty but if I do, I think the company will be easy to deal with. Thank you Alanis Air for your service, we are enjoying the faster ev charging much more convenient, the hotter water supply coming out the shower and a warmer home this winter.
Stephen and his team completed a full HVAC installation at my home. While I paid in full for the service, I soon realized the air conditioning system wasn’t functioning properly. Despite multiple attempts to contact them for a fix, no one was sent out to resolve the issue. I eventually had to hire and pay another HVAC company to correct the problem because Stephen stopped responding to my texts and calls entirely. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

I was really impressed with Stephan Alanis and his team from start to finish while they replaced my old HVAC system with a brand new one. It was finished about six months ago, and both units are running perfectly. I felt comfortable trusting Stephan with this project, even though it was my first time doing business with him. Despite never meeting him in person, Stephan was always just a phone call away to answer any questions or concerns I had. His pricing was super competitive, and the products he recommended have been working great so far. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for HVAC services—he and his team really know their stuff!
They put in a new HVAC system and it would not pass there's testing. They came back once to fix the problem n it still would not pass the test. It has been 8 mo since unit was installed n unit still not fixed. Owner keeps giving me the run around and making excuses. Says he will text me the date of when his crew will b here to fix the unit, but that never happens.when he is talking to you he suddenly gets that bogus call of an important call, so he has to hang up. What a crock and pore business practice. I would never do business with this company again .

I had the privilege of been assisted by the owner, Stephan Alanis, and I must express my utmost satisfaction with his services, his company, and his team. Their pricing is highly competitive, the quality of their work is exceptional, and they utilize state-of-the-art equipment. I contacted them on a Friday, and they promptly dispatched their crew to install my new HVAC system on the following Tuesday. I am extremely pleased with my decision to choose Alanis Air.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Stephan and wish him and his team a joyous holiday season.
