Greg and team did an amazing job on a remodel of several rooms in our house including our kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedrooms. They placed tile floors and carpeting throughout the house, put in new recessed lights, installed a bifold patio door, textured and painted walls, replaced and relocated our furnace, replaced our stair railings, and completely remodeled our kitchen. His team was great to work with and the quality of work met or exceeded our expectations in all parts of the house. We are especially pleased with the tile floors, railings, bifold patio door, and kitchen which are now statement pieces in our house. Greg did a great job managing the periodic material availability or vendor delay issues that come up with big projects and notified us quickly if things were different than planned. His work on the inside of our house was so good we brought him back a couple years later to completely redo the yard and exterior of our house.

I recently had my home remodeled by Gregory James Construction, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. The project included new flooring throughout the house, a complete kitchen and primary bathroom remodel, new doors, and fresh paint. Everything turned out beautifully and exceeded my expectations.
Greg, Juan, and Jorge were an absolute dream team. They were punctual, reliable, incredibly respectful of my home, and took the time to make sure everything was done right. The quality of their workmanship is exceptional. The tile work in particular is some of the best I’ve ever seen. The attention to detail really shows throughout the entire house.
One of the things I appreciated most was Greg’s communication. He was incredibly responsive throughout the entire project. Whenever I had a question or concern, he was available, kept me updated, and made sure things were addressed. That level of communication and attentiveness made the whole remodeling process so much easier.
I absolutely love my home and would use Gregory James Construction again without hesitation. If you’re looking for a contractor who does beautiful, high-quality work and is reliable, professional, and easy to communicate with, I highly recommend Greg and his team. They truly did an amazing job.

I’ve used Greg with Gregory James Inc. on many projects over the years, and they consistently deliver outstanding work. We recently had them build an ADU in Cardiff, CA, and once again, Greg exceeded expectations.
The communication throughout the entire project was stellar. Greg was responsive, professional, and kept us informed every step of the way. The craftsmanship was excellent, with great attention to detail and quality from start to finish.
It’s hard to find a contractor you can trust to consistently deliver, which is why I’ve continued to use Greg on multiple projects. I highly recommend Gregory James Inc. to anyone looking for quality construction, excellent communication, and a contractor who stands behind his work.

Greg and his team did an outstanding job replacing the windows and doors throughout my home! From the initial consultation to the finished installation, the entire process was smooth and professional. The attention to detail, quality of the installation, and craftsmanship really stood out. Everything was installed beautifully, with clean finishes that made a huge difference in both the inside and outside appearance of my home.
The pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the windows, doors, and workmanship. Greg was honest, easy to work with, and made sure everything was done right. It's hard to find someone who delivers this level of quality at a fair price. I couldn't be happier with the results and would absolutely recommend Greg and his team to anyone looking to upgrade their windows and doors!

Gregory James Inc. handled a pretty massive renovation of our home, including two bathrooms, our kitchen, a large multi-slide patio door, and opening up our living room and kitchen by removing a load-bearing wall and installing a structural support beam. This was not a cosmetic “new cabinets and some paint” remodel. We had a significant portion of our house torn apart while we were still trying to live our normal lives in it.
That's where having the right contractor makes all the difference.
Greg is honest, trustworthy, professional, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in the quality of the finished product. When you are inviting a contractor and an entire crew into your home for an extended period of time, those things matter just as much as the craftsmanship. Greg and his team respected our home, our privacy, and the fact that living through a major renovation is inconvenient enough without your contractor making it worse.
Anyone who has ever done a large remodel also knows that construction has a funny way of uncovering little “Easter eggs” nobody asked for. You start opening walls, ceilings, and attics and suddenly discover things that no contractor or homeowner could possibly have known beforehand. Unfortunately, none of us have X-ray vision.
We uncovered a few surprises during our project, and this is another area where Greg really separated himself from contractors I have dealt with in the past. He didn't just show up with a problem; he showed up with a plan. By the time we knew something unexpected had been discovered, Greg had already thought through possible solutions. He explained what was happening, gave us options, discussed the advantages and disadvantages, and explained the cost differences so we could make an informed decision.
That's especially important because change orders can happen on a project of this size. Materials are expensive, labor is expensive, California certainly doesn't make construction or permitting cheap or fast, and sometimes you simply don't know what you're dealing with until demolition starts. What matters is how your contractor handles those situations, communicates with you, and solves the problem. Greg was always on top of it.
I've had some very bad experiences with contractors over the years, which probably makes me appreciate Gregory James Inc. even more. Greg isn't somebody looking to get through a project as cheaply or quickly as possible and disappear. He's invested in his company, his reputation, his people, and most importantly, the product he hands back to his clients when the job is finished.
Was ours a big and expensive project? Absolutely. But here's something I've learned the hard way over the years:
You get what you pay for!
When you're talking about tearing apart your home, making structural changes, dealing with permits, architects, expensive materials, subcontractors, inspections, unexpected conditions, and dozens of moving pieces, saving a few dollars with the wrong contractor can become the most expensive decision you ever make.
With Greg, we knew we had someone who knew what he was doing and had the experience, relationships, and resources to get the job done correctly. The entire project went about as seamlessly as a renovation of this size realistically can, and the finished result was absolutely worth it.
We're now preparing to trust Greg with another major project, which is probably the strongest recommendation I can give. After everything we've been through with other contractors, I honestly don't see myself going anywhere else for our future remodeling needs.
I highly recommend Greg and Gregory James Inc. If you want someone you can trust in your home, who communicates with you, solves problems instead of creating them, and takes pride in doing the job right, give Greg a call.

We lost $11k and 8 months of progress to Greg and his awful, rude, and incompetent draftsman Phil. We complained many times to Greg, who simply made pathetic excuses for Phil. We finally just cut our losses and walked away from him with no permits and unusable plans.
Quoted me $260K for a 400 sq ft ADU — that’s $650/sf. Absolutely egregious. Just another contractor trying to cash in on the ADU trend. Do your homework and get other bids.
I cannot speak higher of Gregory James Inc.
I recently had my original wood siding replaced with Hardie fiber cement board and fiberglass insulation. I had talked to many contractors who wanted nothing to do with my small, unfun, dirty project. Greg and this team took on my project and never once maybe feel that it was a waste of their time. They addressed my concerns and never tried to talk me into something that I didn't want. They showed up on time and worked the whole day regardless of the weather and how difficult the product was.
Every contractor seems to have a plan until they get hit in the face with uneven walls and 60 years of funk. Gregory and his team were able to think on their feet and his team made my house look like the best on the block.

Greg did an incredible addition job for me! I couldn't be happier. I had my master bedroom/bath enlarged in the back of the house and more than doubled the living room in the front as well as a completely new roof. There were a whole bunch of other things such as repairing the butcher block island in the kitchen, adding motion detector lights, getting solar on the roof. I am a pretty picky person and wanted things done just so and Greg and his crew came through for me. I had a closet system installed in the master bedroom, and all sorts of specific things such as the bay window in the living room, the built in bookcases in the living room, and the extra wide bathtub and other gizmos in the master bathroom. At one point when I asked for an outlet to be raised so I can reach it if I end up in a wheelchair someday, Greg said that was why he enjoyed working with me since I am retired and could ask for such things in a timely fashion. No, he meant every word! Greg made certain that safety was a top priority for his team. They spent time each and every trip making certain everything was tidied up and safe before leaving. At some points, Greg advised me against some things that would have cost me more money than reasonable which I appreciate. All of his subcontractors clearly knew that to work with Greg meant that they communicate with the client and that they kept safety as a priority. Greg kept a close eye on the schedule. The contract specified 3 months after the plans were approved by the City and construction was done by then. There were a few minor hiccups, more due to my confusion in contacting EasyClosets than Greg's. Greg even came in several Saturdays himself to work to make sure the construction stayed on schedule. I couldn't be happier with the final results! Greg paid close attention to my wishes and he believes in doing high quality work, not just sliding through and finishing it any old way.
