I count myself extremely lucky to have found IDEL Designs. I was initially looking to replace several of my peeling kitchen cabinet thermofoil doors with new doors. Most of the kitchen cabinet companies wouldn't even talk to me unless I was willing to replace my entire kitchen. Then I called IDEL Designs and spoke with Dennise Valequez. Dennise was not only willing to replace specific kitchen cabinet doors but offered another suggestion when she came to my house and viewed my decor. Dennise suggested that she knew of a high-gloss cabinet facing material that would closely mimic the existing cabinetry in my livingroom.
While I was excited at the prospect of duplicating the glossy appearance of my living room cabinets in the kitchen...I already had black granite counter tops... I was concerned that the glossy material that Dennise was suggesting might be considerably different from the livingroom cabinets. Note that my house is multi story and has a very open architecture. My kitchen is highly visible from the living room and vice versa. So I asked Dennise to order a sample of the material before I made any commitment.
When the sample arrived, I was astounded at how similar it looked to the livingroom cabinets and immediately signed a contract to reface my kitchen cabinets. My second surprise was how reasonable the price was for refacing the cabinets. The only negative I could determine about doing business with Dennise that I could find was the length of time required to complete the work. But Dennise understood my concern and agreed to a completion clause in the contract.
When he arrived and began work, it was obvious that Dennise's installer was a true cabinet craftsman. From start to finish, he was meticulous and took great pains to make sure that everything fit perfectly. When he was done, I had an entirely new look that blended in nicely with the livingroom cabinets and tied the entire first floor together. I was thrilled!
And I was so happy with obvious success of my kitchen makeover that I asked Dennise to reface the rest of the cabinets in my house in the same glossy material. All of the areas are now complete and the house is unrecognizable. Instead of a clearly dated appearance, the house is now crisp, clean and contemporary.
Many many thanks to Dennise and her installer!
And it didn't cost me an arm and a leg!
