DO NOT HIRE THIS SCAMMER!!

The owner seems like the nicest guy, but he’ll look you in your face and outright lie. He’ll offer to “coordinate everything” with your insurance company and have them pay him directly based upon his estimate. Then he’ll both overbid (pad) the estimate and underperform the job, pocketing the excess insurance money. For me, the difference was around $8,000.

Previously dba Seaside Mold and Water (see Nextdoor customer who called him out as a scammer). He closed that business and is now dba RenewPro Restoration. BEWARE - The last thing you need when you’re already hurting from a catastrophe is to cross paths with Chris Lockhart. The San Diego civil court docket shows a long history of actions against him.

Time really tells you whether a job was done right. After living with the results for a while, we can confidently say the restoration Renew Pro Restoration completed still looks great, and we haven’t had any problems related to the original water issue since everything was finished. I believe they defend their 5-star status!

Since then, we’ve referred Renew Pro to two other people, and both shared that they had the same positive experience. They also specifically mentioned Chris, the project manager, as being especially helpful and easy to work with.

Normally, we wouldn’t bother writing a follow-up review, but based on our experience and the feedback we’ve heard since, this one feels warranted.

By the time we noticed that our water filtration system had been leaking for months the water had spread into the lunchroom and caused significant damage. To make matters worse, our insurance company wasn’t much help. They told us that certain parts of the damage weren’t covered. A real hassle.

So, we did some research and picked RenewPro Restoration. They quickly assessed the damage and Chris the project manager gave us a quote that came in lower than we expected. They even dealt directly with our insurance company to get the process moving and within a few days the space was completely dried and repaired. It turned out to be a smooth and stress-free experience. Thanks to the entire team at RenewPro Restoration.

I had a great experience working with Renew Pro Restoration. Mine was a small job involving moisture behind the washing room sink cabinets, but I was referred to by a co-worker who had a major kitchen restoration project done by them and she was extremely satisfied, so I felt comfortable moving forward with this company.

The lead person Chris was professional, and very clear about what needed to be done. He really knows how to communicate with you throughout the process. They first identified the source of the moisture and got it fixed, then did the rest of the remediation. It took time, but it was done right. I also appreciated that they focused on doing only what was necessary, unlike some companies that go crazy. The team paid attention to details, and left everything clean without any issues. If you’re in the North County San Diego area and looking for a good company for water damage or mold problems, I’d recommend them.
