SMDB Corp

It’s a big plus working with someone like Stew who brings both design and construction expertise to our projects; the typical disconnect between the architect and the contractor as 2 separate companies, with 2 different sets of priorities, is eliminated. Stew’s inputs insures a smoother, more collaborative and cost-effective construction process for all involved, from customer to tradespeople. And the high quality of the end product is the result.

Stew is a pleasant, sharp guy who is a pro. I have known him for at least ten years. I highly recommend you have him give you a proposal.

Stew is very knowledgeable. He has experience in such a diverse range of design-build topics. We recommend that you give his company a call the minute you start thinking of a new project.

Stew, I wanted to let you know how absolutely thrilled my parents were with the entryway / dining room floor. The choice of wood, style of tongue-and-groove, the finish, the color .... they were thrilled with the entire job. They especially appreciated ow everything was picked up neat-and-tidy at the end of each work day.

It was great working with you guys too! Everybody was great! We are very happy.
Thank you again for making a large effort go off without a hitch and even getting us in early.

SM-designbuild did a fine job of preparing a draft for the construction of a multi-unit apartment complex in Carlsbad, California. They are very conscientious and creative in their design process.

SM-designbuild was referred to me by a friend that had great success working with Stew and his company on their home remodel. As a single woman I was a bit nervous about renovating my condo as I'd heard so many scary stories about how things can go wrong with contractors, but my experience with SM-designbuild was great. The design phase was fun and painless; they listened closely to my needs and came up with great ideas I hadn't even considered. They priced the project early on in the design phase and I was relieved to find that the initial estimate was very close to the final cost. The quality of their work was excellent and I'm happy to report that they finished the job ahead of schedule! You can't go wrong with SM-designbuild. I would use them again in a heart beat and would refer them to all my friends.
