I was very pleased today. SDGE had a planned maintenance outage so our neighborhood had a power outage for a couple hours. Our battery backup system worked as we had planned out with Peter and 180 Solar. Refrigerator and microwave worked. Also had TV and internet. Love it when a plan comes together.

Thanks Jim. So grateful you chose us as your contractor, and that you're happy with our work!

Installed my original solar electric system in 2019. Great job! Recently they also added more panels to increase my power to offset more AC during the summer months. They reviewed the rules and were able to add panels without causing a switch to NEM3! Again they did a good job and got it done in a reasonable time.

Peter shared more information with me than any of the solicitors with all the "deals". I appreciate honesty & won't give an excellent review unless it's been earned from being to end. We've had our first true up (a full year) of $0 & a credit still remaining on our account with SDG&E. This without a battery. After installation they still take care of their customers! Above & beyond. I highly recommend them for every good reason any of us can hope for! Price, performance & customer care/service.

Can't be more happy! Ok, so I bought my house in 2020 and in my past rentals (I wasn't in Escondido) I rarely had to run my air so fast forward to I move into my house middle of Summer in Escondido and it's soooo hot so I have to run my air non stop I was shocked when I got my electricity bill it was minimum $600 in summer, so I decided to possibly look into solar but the sales people were always so pushy it was such a turn off I decided to hold off. Fast forward and the least expensive SDGE bill even when not running ac or heat was about $250. My average bill over the past 3 years is about $550 per month. I got phone calls and people knocking on my door all the time offering solar but again they were very pushy and often rude... one day on my drive home I got a call from a local number I answered and it was a guy offering solar but he was actually nice (Ben is his name) and not pushy so I actually said to him ok you know what you aren't rude and pushy I would be happy to hear what the owner Peter has to say so two days later Peter comes over and goes over what he suggested for my solar plan I was of course asking a ton of questions I'm sure being super annoying and he answered everything without being pushy, without getting annoyed and was just very matter of fact so I ended up moving forward. Another thing is I have friends that were getting solar too, two other houses and mine was done before theirs and they started their process before I did. Both friends it took over a year from start to finish to get their solar installed, mine was done within 4 months and the entire process was so easy between Peter and his wonderful assistant in the office Laura who stayed on top of everything to make sure the process went smoothly. Let's talk about installation day... the guys were on time, so professional, and they did such clean work. They cleaned up everything so nicely and I don't know if you have ever noticed but not all solar is created equally take a look on people's houses you will notice that the solar isn't positioned clean. Anyway so they get me all set up and I have this app where I can see how much energy I'm producing which I am obsessed with and I just got my first month bill (with solar you pay SDGE once a year, it's called a true up will) and my true up so far was only $50!!!!! I'm so happy!!! I mean I am SO HAPPY! So my solar is costing me $300 a month until I pay it off, yes, it's an investment but I'm still paying $200 less per month that I was before so it's a WIN and when solar is paid off it will be even more amazing. Only regret I have is not getting solar sooner. I 100% highly recommend going with 180Solar you won't be disappointed.

Amazing customer service! Peter Stern came to our house to do a quick site check in order to properly quote us. Very knowledgeable and patient with us as we had a lot of questions. Definitely recommend them.

Kevin1/5

Very poor overall experience. They did not seem to know what they were doing. They ordered a part that didn't fit my system and had to delay the battery installation. Once they started working it took many more days than expected. They severed my sprinkler line while clearing a bush around the installation and didn't mention it. The first time my power went out, the battery did not kick on automatically, which defeats the purpose of having a backup. They promised a rebate incentive that after a year an a half of waiting on CA, I was told my system was ineligible. They left their tool bag in my yard when the job was finished, so I had to call and let them know to come back for it. I don't feel that any of the above was deceitful, but overall, it felt like an inexperienced company.

I’m sorry that you feel so dissatisfied. Let me preface this response by stating that there are few companies in southern California whose teams have more experience than ours does. Let me also state that despite some initial setbacks that occurred during the first two weeks of your installation, your system has worked flawlessly ever since, going all the way back to 2020. Regarding the other issues that you brought up: 1) We were initially sent defective parts from SolarEdge, which is why some of the work had to be redone and took longer than forecasted, which we were even more disappointed about than you because it cost us quite a bit of money in extra labor hours to complete the job. 2) During the installation there was some digging required, and one of our workers accidently cut an underground irrigation line. There was no way to know that it had been cut because it was not in use as the time. Had we known it was cut we would have repaired it on the spot. However, as soon as you realized it had been cut and notified us, we offered to immediately come back and repair it. 3) I believe there was a programming error that was discovered the first time the battery was put in use, and that too was immediately addressed. 4) We were also disappointed that the rebate was not granted to you, despite all of the time we expended in the application process. At the same time, because of the uncertainty surrounding the reliability of rebate issuances, you were given a substantial pricing discount up front. So in the end, the discount was equivalent to what the value of the rebate would have been had it been issued to you. In summation let us state that there are often challenges or obstacles that occur during the course of construction work, and your job was no exception to that rule. However, the difference between a solid competent company, and one that is not, is how quickly and how well those types of situations are addressed and fixed. In your case, everyone of the issues that came up in those first few weeks were resolved quickly and efficiently, and as stated above, your system has worked flawlessly ever since, going all the way back to 2020. Please reach out and let us know if you need any assistance in the future.

Laura Williams was an absolute breath of fresh air to deal with! She was so responsive and efficient!! Laura and Peter Stern made getting things done a breeze. Good customer service is hard to find but these guys have it down.... You won't be disappointed if you're the type of person who likes things done without having to constantly follow up.

Thank you Laura and Peter!!

I recently purchased a home with a 180 Solar Power installed system. I contacted 180 Solar to transfer ownership and get access to the system data. They responded quickly, transferred ownership, told me the system was still under warranty, and the system needed a new inverter.

The technician was on-time to the appointment, explained the process and time necessary, and completed the work in the estimated time window.

Thank you 180 Solar Power for the excellent customer service!

Joseph5/5

We had such a good experience with this company installing solar on our first home that we hired also hired them to install solar on our next home when we moved. Their prices are fantastic and we have had a wonderful time working with Peter, the owner.
