Received over 10 different HVAC quotes, and Free Air was the only company I felt 100% comfortable with. Many HVAC salespeople seemed focused on selling whatever equipment they could rather than determining the proper setup for my home.
Free Air was different. They inspected the attic, existing equipment, and ductwork and took the time to properly size the system. I received incorrect sizing recommendations from 8 of the 10 companies I spoke with. I was given so much misinformation that I later had an independent Manual J load calculation performed, which confirmed that Free Air's recommendation was right. Had I listened to several of the other companies, my system would have been significantly oversized, which I learned can actually hurt comfort and performance.
The installation was handled by a two-man father-and-son crew, and both were masters of their craft. They removed the old furnace and ducting from the garage, installed a new air handler in the attic, and installed a 3-ton heat pump on the patio roof at my request. They replaced the majority of the ductwork and added three new supply vents. One of those vents was in a particularly difficult location, but they figured out a way to make it happen. They even designed and built a custom stand for the outdoor unit to address potential vibration.
From start to finish, the entire job took about 13 hours, including only a roughly 40-minute parts/lunch run. I was expecting the project to take two days, but they completed everything in a single day.
Extremely professional, knowledgeable, hardworking, and thorough. After talking with more than 10 HVAC companies, I'm very happy I chose Free Air.
Highly recommend.
