Do not use this company. And if for some reason you do, do not let them start any work without a signed contract that has the full price list and all charges disclosed in writing first.
We hired Quick-Dry after a water leak at our rental. The mitigation — fans, dehumidifiers, and drying — was invoiced at over $21,000. When our insurer did a detailed, line-by-line review of the exact same work, they valued it at less than half.
The bill was padded with charges we never agreed to. One example that says it all: a $750 “fuel surcharge” — $75 for each of their 10 visits, just to cover gas, on top of the labor and equipment already billed for those same visits. Our insurer removed it entirely, noting travel is already included in the standard charges. There was also a fee for cleaning the company’s own equipment and days of extended air-scrubbing. And they classified the loss as “Category 3 / black water” — which conveniently inflates the price — despite this being a standard wet-pipe sprinkler line with no basis for that label.
Worse than the billing was how we were treated. The interactions were rude, unprofessional, and at times demeaning. Instead of resolving the gap with the insurer, they came after us for the full inflated balance directly, piling on late fees and threatening to put a lien on our property. It took weeks of fighting and documentation before we settled for a fraction of what they originally demanded.
We would never recommend this company to anyone. If you’ve had water damage: shop around and get quotes from other restoration companies first, never sign an open-ended work authorization without the full price list and financials disclosed in writing, document every piece of equipment and every day they’re on site yourself, and have your insurer review any invoice line by line before you pay a cent.
**Excellent service! Quick-Dry was recommended to me by Dave at Paws Plumbing (who I also love), and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. They were way better than ServPro and Manifested Builders.**
**A huge cheers to Robert, Dave, Jessica, Gloria, and everyone else at Quick-Dry. Robert even went above and beyond by answering my phone call after hours. Highly recommend!**
Don’t let these people in your house!! And don’t sign any documents before contacting your insurance! It will be a plumber referring you to them and telling you not to tell your insurance. Once we figure out what the scam was, they stopped answering our calls and questioning why we wanted to cancel knowing fully well what your company does. Vincent Lozano you are a bad human being, you sat in your house eating and drinking beer with my father while lying to us and making us think that you were helping us. Your worker that came by to pick up the humidifiers is disgusted by your behavior, he confirm that this is a pattern this is what this company does tries to steal money from families who are in a vulnerable position. I know you won’t changes and it’s so apparent from all these reviews, but I hope someone reads these before they give your underserving company work.
Overpriced. Make sure they. Provide a quote before doing the job. They “communicate” with you daily without showing g the status of the work and their supervisor is never available and when finally he takes your call, he is rude, short and unable to give you details on the status of the issue. Never come back here.
I had an extremely stressful and disappointing experience with Quick-Dry Flood Services.
After a water leak at my house, my plumber referred Quick-Dry for emergency mitigation. Quick-Dry contacted me and told me they could handle the mitigation and bill the insurance directly. Before signing, I was concerned about cost and called Quick-Dry. Their manager, Isaac, confirmed to me that the cost would be handled through insurance and would not come out of my pocket. Based on that assurance, and because it was an emergency, I signed their work authorization. I also asked multiple times for an estimate or cost range, but no estimate was ever provided. I was told, “Don’t worry, we will take care of you.”
Looking back, I deeply regret trusting those verbal assurances.
Quick-Dry later submitted an invoice for $18,185.73. My insurance adjuster performed a detailed review and determined that only $7,561.88 was supported. The adjuster questioned multiple items, including excessive equipment days, custom pricing above standard regional pricing, overhead and profit for single-trade mitigation, and other charges such as fuel, dispatch, materials, and bio-wash. Quick-Dry later removed certain items and reduced the invoice to $14,529.77, but the insurance company completed a secondary review and again confirmed that $7,561.88 was the supported amount and sent the $7,561.88 to Quick-Dry.
Despite this, Quick-Dry continued pursuing us for the remaining balance. At different times, they sent invoices and letters showing different amounts, including the higher original balance, which made the billing very confusing and stressful. Instead of reasonably resolving the dispute, they threatened to restore the invoice back to $18,185.73, add interest and fees, and eventually filed a mechanic’s lien against our house for $11,133.21, including administrative fees and interest.
I tried to resolve the matter by offering $3,000 just to end the dispute, but Quick-Dry refused. In the end, in order to get the lien removed from my property, I felt forced to pay $6,967.89 plus interest and a $350 administrative fee, totaling $7,500.
Throughout the process, David’s communication was rude and dismissive. The company showed very little willingness to acknowledge the insurance adjuster’s detailed concerns or the stress this caused my family. This entire experience created months of anxiety, pressure, and frustration.
In my opinion, QuickDry not only overcharges customers but also completely scams them!
Sergio, Vincent & Jeremy it’s refreshing to know that technicians like them just go out of their way to help and support the people they’re working with. Just love them too being chill and having fun , it makes the job less stressful for the homeowner.
We had water leaking from an unknown source on Saturday and quick dry came out right away, measured where the moisture was coming from, opened the walls and quickly identified the source. They helped coordinate other vendors that were needed to complete the initial mitigation. It does get expensive, but third parties familiar with this type of work stated it was within reason. David and Gloria are particularly warm and helpful.
Predatory Billing Nightmare
Quick-Dry billed us over $13k for water mitigation that should have been under $5k according to the insurance appraiser. The bill was so high because they:
• Charged overhead & profit (O&P) on top of hourly rates that already include O&P
• Charged premium "after-hours" rates for routine work at an unoccupied home
• Did not provide any requested documentation when requested and threatened liens after refusing to work with insurance
We eventually settled after a very long back and forth which led to a large discount.
Make sure you get multiple quotes and have insurance review before paying. This industry serves people in emergencies who deserve transparent pricing.
