Zier Pools

I highly recommend reaching out to Zier Pools if you are thinking about transforming your yard with a pool. The entire team at Zier Pools was professional, friendly and focused. This review may seem overdue as Zier Pools completed my project in August 2025. I can speak not only to my Zier Pools construction experience but also to the quality of their work and their follow-through post-project completion.

We reached out to Zier Pools and began working with Andrew and Jay on a full front & backyard remodel, including a pool, spa, kitchen, hardscape, landscape, deck, etc. We had purchased a home with a yard that was basically dirt, concrete, brick and overgrown trees. We shared a few ideas with Andrew and Jay about what we were looking for. By our first sit down meeting, they had brought the project to life better than we had envisioned.

Working with Andrew, Jay and the entire Zier team was phenomenal. We prefer to support local family businesses and Zier Pools did not disappoint. Jay has immense experience and a ton of valuable contacts he connected us with. Communication throughout the project was incredible. Andrew always had time to answer questions or address issues that came up. Both Andrew and Jay were very present throughout the entire project.

We ended up with a front & back yard, completed in the estimated timeline, that exceeded our expectations. Post project, we reached out to Zier Pools regarding a patio cover and a pool light issue and both were handled quickly and completely. Neighbors and people who pass by stop and comment on how much they love the front yard and anyone who has seen the backyard raves about the design and functionality.

Zier Pools most definitely delivered the WOW factor and created a space that feels like a vacation retreat. We are beyond grateful to Zier Pools and highly recommend that anyone looking to install a pool check in with them before choosing a contractor.

We initially took our custom design and bid it out to several different companies, but after meeting with Jay Zier, we connected and it felt like the right fit. He was both enthusiastic and confident his team would deliver our dream backyard—and they absolutely did.

It was very helpful and reassuring with Jay because he was always responsive and available to answer questions. He referred us to National Pool Tile and helped us select tile and finishes always giving us his honest opinion without upselling anything. We wanted a few major custom features: a perimeter overflow spa, a custom mermaid tail mosaic, huge Baja shelf with bubblers (for the kids) and a swim jet.

A massive shoutout goes to Jaasiel, Zier’s masonry specialist. He is super nice and his work ethic is next level. He spent days hand-laying every single tile for both the perimeter overflow and the intricate mermaid tail mosaic. See photos - it came stunning and exactly the way we hoped.

Jay introduced us to Kenny, who handles the landscaping and lighting. Kenny is an absolute perfectionist and will say it like it is if he doesn’t think it’ll look nice. He met us at the nursery to make sure we got every single plant on our list, and he even went to several other nurseries on his own to hunt down and hand-pick the absolute best options available. He encouraged and sometimes pulled us back to create a beautiful, balanced soft scape against the sea of pavers.

Zier Pools made our backyard oasis reality. We are so happy with everything and have received so many compliments from friends, neighbors, and family.

We had a wonderful experience working with Tim Brown. He was recommended by friends and met all of our expectations. He created a beautiful design for our backyard and truly listened to what we wanted for the space. Throughout the process, he was responsive, communicative, professional, and incredibly easy to work with.
What we appreciated most was that there was never any pressure or pushy sales tactics. He spent a lot of time helping us explore options and worked hard to make the project fit within our budget without compromising the overall vision. His honesty, patience, and attention to detail really stood out.

Zier Pools installed our gorgeous pool and patio over the winter and spring, and we are so happy to recommend them to others. We did a lot of research and narrowed our search down to three pool installation companies. We ultimately chose Zier (and Tim Brown, Zier's project manager on our project) because of the transparency, the pool design based on our answers to their questions on how we would use the pool, the delivered 3D pool animation etc, and Tim's willingness to work with us to try to stay within budget.

This was such a huge project, with many tentacles and decisions to be made along the way. Tim helped us focus on what was most important at each phase and made sure we understood all the options and impact on budget. We especially appreciated Tim's active involvement on the project, with almost weekly site visits, and one-pagers to get us ready for each major construction phase - detailing what to expect, what decisions need to be made, etc. He was also very patient with us as we made some mid-project adjustments. Along the way, he helped us envision the possibilities within our budget (of which there were many!) and also informed us of some possibilities that were just out of the budget but that he sensed we might like if we could stretch the budget slightly. In all, we stayed within budget -- going for a couple small upgrades, offset by a couple of places to cut due to our mid-project design change.

Finally, we appreciated the billing transparency. All costs at each phase were broken down in detail, including the amount of material (tile, pebble finish, turf, pavers, etc.). When we noticed a discrepancy in the amount of material installed vs one invoice, we brought this to Tim's attention and he graciously came out to re-measure, acknowledged the error and credited the savings to our next invoice. It's important to note that the discrepancy was an easy mistake to make, as it was due to our revisions on pavers and turf late in the process.

We'd be happy to talk to anyone interested about our experience with Tim and Zier Pools. This monster of a project was made so much simpler by Tim and his process, and the results are fantastic!

We had been talking about building a pool for years and finally decided to move forward last summer. We reached out to three different pool companies, including Zier Pools, to get ideas and proposals. The experiences couldn’t have been more different.

One company scheduled an appointment and never showed up. Another came out but was unprofessional, promised a proposal for a lagoon-style pool, and then completely disappeared. Then there was Zier Pools, they set the standard from the very beginning.

Tim Brown came to our home, carefully assessed our yard, and suggested a pool design that actually gave us more usable yard space than the lagoon style we initially had in mind. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to answer every question we had. When we met with him at their office, he had a detailed, professional proposal ready to go and walked us through every step of the process, including costs, timeline, payment schedule, without any pressure whatsoever.

From that point on, the experience only got better. The construction process was smooth, and every crew Zier brought in was top-notch. One thing we especially appreciated was the group text Tim set up with us, so that every phase was clearly communicated, and any questions we had were answered quickly.

We can honestly say the entire process exceeded our expectations. Our pool turned out absolutely gorgeous, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

I cannot recommend Tim and the team at Zier more highly! Tim gave us a very accurate estimate and stayed true to that estimate throughout the construction process. He was regularly on site and ensured that work was being completed on time with high quality. You can tell the whole team takes pride in their work and what the final product looks like. The team at Zier really goes above and beyond and I am so happy that we chose to go with them for our pool installation!
