Horrible Experience with HomeFix Custom Remodeling and Landscaping – Avoid at All Costs!
We hired HomeFix Custom Remodeling and Landscaping, working with contractor George - who was very professional and polite at first, for a backyard renovation, spending over $44,000.
What we received was an absolute disaster. From the very beginning, George’s promises about delivering an exceptional quality of work that he is proud of were nothing but lies.
Despite his sworn promise to work on the backyard until our full satisfaction, he failed completely, leaving us frustrated and disheartened.
He assured us we’d have professional, English-speaking workers who would deliver a clean, precise job. Instead, we got workers who couldn’t communicate with us.
The workers trashed our garbage bins, spilling foul substances all over them. They parked their truck in our driveway without asking and wasted a large amount of our water to wash their vehicle, which felt very disturbing. On top of that, they littered our yard with bolts and screws, turning it into a dangerous mess. But the worst part? They damaged our electrical wiring and completely destroyed our watering and lighting systems. They removed our AC unit from its correct position, causing over $6,500 in damages that we are now responsible for. He also promised to ensure our turf would be taken care of and would not elevate, yet this has happened.
To add insult to injury, their boss Ivan consistently 'forgot' to address the damages his team caused. Hours have been wasted pursuing them – time that should be dedicated to our work – simply trying to get them to take responsibility. Instead, workers are being supervised who demonstrate a complete lack of care or respect for the property. And then they started ignoring our attempts to contact them. After a while, Ivan told us we had to speak to George, as he no longer works for him – and they even fired the electrician responsible for breaking our electrical system – but George has proven equally unresponsive.
For $44,000, we expected professionalism, quality, and basic respect for our home – and got none of that. This has been the worst contractor experience we’ve ever had. The incompetence, dishonesty, and total lack of accountability from HomeFix Custom Remodeling and Landscaping is outrageous. If you care about your time, money, and home, stay far away from these people!
