Our experience with Solar Symphony has been deeply troubling, and we would strongly caution anyone considering entering into a contract with this company. We had our solar system installed approximately four years ago and it was covered by a 25-year warranty. Unbeknownst to us, the system was not producing adequately at the end of 2025, and in March 2026 we received an $829.82 bill from Southern California Edison. In April, we discovered that seven of our panels were not producing. When we contacted Solar Symphony, Claudio told us there would be a charge of $695 for the first two hours of a technician's time and $245 for each additional hour. We were confused because we were still within our 25-year warranty. When we questioned the charges, we were told that the equipment was under warranty but the labor was not. Before agreeing to send a technician, Claudio repeatedly wanted to know how we intended to pay for the service.
After weeks of very limited communication, a technician finally came out on June 8, but the problem was not fixed. On June 30, we were told additional testing was needed and another technician came out on July 20, at which point our entire system was turned OFF. We followed up again on August 12, and five days later were told that someone would come out September 7 and that they believed the optimizers needed to be replaced. Finally, on September 8, a technician arrived and replaced the failed optimizers. This entire process took 5 months, during which we were paying for a solar system that was not functioning properly while our electricity costs have greatly increased. We are now on pace to receive an additional bill of $1,418.56 from Southern California Edison when our net energy metering is settled again in 2027.
Most astonishingly, we then received an invoice for $2,410.00 from Solar Symphony. The invoice contains no detailed description of the work performed, the number of hours billed, or an itemized explanation of the charges. There is nothing in our contract stating that we would be responsible for paying to repair our system while it was still within the 25-year warranty period.
We are now preparing to file a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board so that our experience can be independently reviewed. We are posting this review because we believe potential customers should know about our experience with Solar Symphony's warranty and service process before entering into a contract with them.
