He correctly identified the problem as a blocked coil and prescribed a workable solution without the need for excessive replacement of parts.

The repairman first did not show up the day he was supposed to, canceling last minute for the next day. The next day, we had to keep contacting him as the time window passed. When he did show up, he had no parts with him so could not fix it. Said he’d come back 12-3 today (day3). Did not show but claimed he did (we have a doorbell camera). Said he’d show up 5-8. Again did not show up. The county is in a major heatwave and this man had no urgency about any of this. He had us write a check to a company called “Reliable,” not “Swift.” Be careful with trusting this company and its contractors. Update: new company arrived. This company’s contractor over identified the problem; it could have been fixed Day 1 in five minutes.

After a prior negative experience with a different contractor, I was expecting some delays, but the technician arrived on time and efficiently repaired my portable A/C unit in about an hour. He explained that the issue was due to a faulty capacitor and took care of it promptly.
