after two technicians worked on my unit it cost me $600 plus and it is no better today when we started this process (about 2 weeks ago)

Hi Patricia,
We’re sorry to see this review, particularly because it leaves out some important context regarding the work performed and the condition of the refrigerator when our company became involved.
When we were initially called out, you were seeking a second opinion after a previous appliance company had already worked on the refrigerator and had made modifications in an attempt to address the issue. Our technician diagnosed the unit and found that the damper assembly was not operating correctly. Voltage was present at the damper, and based on the diagnostic testing performed at that time, replacement of the defective damper assembly was recommended and approved.
After the new damper was installed and the refrigerator continued experiencing issues, we did not simply assume the repair was complete. The unit was evaluated further, additional diagnostics were performed, and evidence then pointed to an issue with the control board. You were provided a separate estimate for that additional repair.
That control board repair was then completed by our technician yesterday. Based on the technician’s documentation and videos taken at the completion of the service, the damper appeared to be operating properly at the time he left the home. We were therefore surprised to see this review stating that the unit is “no better today” before we had an opportunity to hear from you directly and evaluate what may currently be happening.
We completely understand the frustration of spending money on an appliance and still experiencing a problem. However, the amounts paid were not simply “$600+ and nothing was done.” They included the original diagnostic, an approved repair involving labor and materials, subsequent diagnostic work, and an additional approved control-board repair as we continued troubleshooting a refrigerator that had already been altered and worked on by another company before it came to us. In fact, in an effort to help resolve the issue and minimize additional cost to you, we did not charge additional labor for that repair — only the parts that were needed.
Appliance diagnostics can sometimes reveal more than one failed component, particularly when prior repairs or modifications have already been made. We always document our findings, obtain authorization before completing repairs, and communicate additional findings when further issues become apparent.
Most importantly, if the refrigerator is again experiencing the same symptom after yesterday’s completed repair, we would absolutely want the opportunity to address that directly. Please contact our office at (858) 863-7319 so we can review the current condition of the unit and determine the appropriate next step.
